We monitor our Patients closely to keep them as safe as possible during procedures that require general anesthesia. A Veterinary Assistant will continually assess your Pet’s heart and respiratory rate, mucous membrane color and capillary refill time, blood pressure, and other vital signs to help prevent any anesthetic risk.

In addition, we utilize a set of monitoring equipment, including pulse oximeter heart rate monitor, and breathing monitor to help us assess the vital signs of any Patient undergoing anesthetic procedure.

We use a variety of water and circulating thermal support systems to help the Pet maintain good body temperature during anesthesia.

Every Pet having a procedure over 10 minutes receives an intravenous catheter and fluid support during anesthesia.

Every Pet is attended to from the moment of their initial physical exam and catheter placement to the moment of recovery and extubation, ability to eat and ambulate, and mental awareness.

Please feel free to ask us about our patient monitoring protocol or any concerns you might have about your Pet’s procedure. We’d be happy to discuss these matters in more detail.
